Step 1: Use Design Space For Creating Stickers

First thing you need to do is design the sticker you want on Design Space using your preferred electronic device such as desktop, laptop or your tablet. You can either use built in tools to create them or import ready made ones on to your Design Space. You can import a design on this software or use the already provided templates in the Cricut Access Library. This is user-friendly software and can easily be mastered.

Step 2: Add Final Touches

Next, using the weld tool, fill in gaps in the design and proceed to center and align it. Adjust the size of the image. You can even add text through a text box. You can also place multiple images on a single sheet using the software. The software will ask you which material you are using. Choose the material which in this case is vinyl.

If you want to print a design on the vinyl, you can send your design to the printer via Design Space. You will have to use printable vinyl for this. Print on the matte side of the vinyl. Allow the ink to dry before moving on to cut the design.

Step 3: Start Cutting Using Cricut

Turn on your Cricut machine and place your vinyl sheet on a cutting mat with vinyl side up. If you have printed the vinyl, place it on the top left corner of the cutting mat. Smooth out any bubbles on the vinyl using a scraper and load the mat into the machine. Press ‘Make it’ on the software and proceed to cut the vinyl. After the cutting is finished, eject the mat.

Step 4: Weed Out Excess Vinyl

Remove vinyl from the cutting mat and use a weeding tool to remove excess vinyl. Finally, your stickers are ready to apply on the surface of your choice.

Step 5: Transfer The Design

Apply transfer tape on top of the design and smooth it out with a scraper so that there are no creases or air bubbles. Make sure the transfer tape perfectly adheres to the design. Remove the adhesive backing of the vinyl slowly ensuring that the whole design is on the transfer tape. Put the design on the desired surface and use a scraper to smooth it out on the surface. Once the design has perfectly adhered to the surface, remove the transfer tape very slowly.
