Amazing Features Of Flocked HTV

Flocked heat transfer vinyl (HTV) is a high-performance, highly customizable thermal interface material that has many amazing characteristics such as:

  • Flocked HTV is textured and one feels that it will be thick, but this is not so. It is incredibly soft and much thinner than expected, hence very easy to work with.
  • It can be easily cut, weeded and shaped to create virtually any shape or size you can imagine, even if it is the most intricate design ever seen.
  • Weeding out flocked HTV is a breeze. Even the smallest pieces stay adhered to the carrier sheet hence you don’t have to worry about your complex design being ruined.
  • The other great thing about using flocked HTV is that it comes in many different colors. You can choose from several different shades of blue, green, red, orange and more! This makes it easy for you to create colorful designs without having to worry about making sure all the pieces match perfectly together.
  • Unlike other textured vinyl films, flocked HTV can be layered to create fabulous designs. You can depend on it when making multi-layered designs because it has minimal shrinkage at high temperature, hence there will be no gaps in your design even if it is used as a base layer. You can layer it with a different colored flocked HTV or matte, glitter or patterned vinyl, whatever your design asks for.

Flocked HTV can be used in many creative ways. It is more widely used in leisure wear and high street fashion, since it has that furry, velvety feel, but is not limited to it. Below are the few ways in which it can be used:

Flocked HTV is a less expensive alternative for embroidery. This can be used for uniform logos giving a professional appearance without costing too much. You can use it in corporate uniforms, school wear or in a dance costume.

Home Decor:

You can make items for decorating your home with flocked HTV such as wall hangings, pillow covers and more. Calligraphic patterns can also be created on suitable fabrics to adorn the walls.

For Personalized Gifts:

There are so many different celebrations all year round such as Christmas, Halloween, birthdays, baby showers, gender reveal, anniversaries and so on. You can create matching outfits for friends and family or personalized gifts with flocked htv to be given as party favors.

Difference Between Flocked HTV And Regular HTV

The primary distinction between flocked heat transfer vinyl and regular vinyl is texture. Flocked vinyl is fuzzier and more durable, whereas solid or smooth or regular vinyl is flatter, smoother, and more delicate.

You can cut other HTVs using normal cut settings. For flocked HTV, you will have to increase the blade's penetration level while cutting.

Advantages Of Using Flocked HTV

Below are a few advantages stating why you should use flocked HTV on your fabrics:

Even The Most Intricate Designs Are Simple To Weed.

You'd think that a complex material like flocked HTV would be difficult to cut, weed, and apply, but that's not the case. Whether you're using it as a background for several layers or cutting out an incredibly delicate object, flocked HTV is always easy to weed out. Furthermore, even the tiniest bits remain stuck to the carrier sheet, making the weeding process simpler. After you filter away the unfavorable bits, some fuzz will linger on your sheet. Don't fret, it won't transfer to your clothes when you iron or press it.

The Best Layering Base.

Do you have a design with a lot of layers to align? I recommend including flocked HTV in the design. When heated at high temperatures, it shrinks very little, if at all, so you don't have to worry about spaces in your designs. Layer it with additional flocked HTV or other layered iron on materials such as matte, glitter, and patterned HTV.

The Soft Subtle Texture

Straight on, you can't really see that the flocked HTV is layered, but you can certainly feel it! This suede-like material is extremely soft, making it an excellent choice for sleepers, pillowcases, children's clothing, blankets, and anything else you want to add texture and dimension to. It's also comparable to embroidery. With an HTV cutter, you can make any size and pattern with flocked HTV.

Flocked HTV With Sublimation

Another advantage of flocked HTV is that it may be printed with sublimation ink! You can create a sublimation pattern on a shirt using flocked heat transfer vinyl.

How To Use Flocked HTV

If you're ready to use the flocked HTV, be sure to duplicate your pattern on your cutter's software program and set the material on your mat with the glossy (carrier sheet) side down. Do not forget to mirror the image. We encourage performing a test cut using the same cut setting as you would for matte HTV.

Align your design on your preferred garment and prepare to press. Since the carrier sheet with flocked HTV is not extremely sticky, once you filter out the bits you don't need, you may secure it in position with heat safe tape if you're concerned about sliding during pressing.

How To Use A Heat Press To Apply Flocked HTV

  • Set your heat press at 305-310 °F.
  • Protect your design with a Teflon sheet.
  • For 10–15 seconds, press your design.
  • Allow the design to rest before removing the carrier sheet.
  • Display your fluffy and furry design!
  • Note: If your design has several parts or layers, only press the first few layers for a few seconds. On the final layer, do a full press for 10 seconds.

How To Use An Iron To Apply Flocked HTV

  • Set your home iron to the highest temperature, which is generally cotton. Make certain that you do not use steam!
  • Cover your design with a Teflon sheet.
  • Iron your pattern for 20 seconds with hard pressure. If the design is larger than the iron, iron it in portions for 15-20 seconds to ensure that the entire pattern is adhered. Instead of sliding the iron backwards and forwards, use it like a press.
  • Allow for complete cooling of your design before lifting the sheet.
  • Display your completed design!

The Final Word

Flocked HTV is attractive and fashionable. It’s a great way to add some personality to your project without having to worry about damage during application or removal because there are no sharp edges on the material itself! So, what are you waiting for? Buy our top-quality flocked HTV and customize your project in the best way possible.
